TYPHOON FRANK TASK FORCE REHAB AKLAN
On June 21, 2008, Aklan was devastated badly by Typhoon Frank. Two of the hardest hit towns are Kalibo and Numancia. However, other neighboring towns are also damaged specifically those along the coastal area of the province.
The Rotary Club of Kalibo is one of the non-government organizations which assisted in the provision and distribution of relief goods to typhoon victims in Aklan. Now, it aims to spearhead fund raising to assist the Aklan Provincial Government Office thru the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) for AKLAN REHABILITATION.
Aklan is now in the stage of rehabilitation. The Rotary Club of Kalibo wishes to sustain the provision of potable water, maintain sanitation, education, promote livelihood program and produce more food for the typhoon victims and the people. Long-term recovery efforts by rebuilding of houses, repair of infrastructure and rehabilitation of agriculture such as crops, livestocks, poultry and fisheries is necessary.
Many believes, “in union there is strength.” Join hands with us to facilitate and deliver timely the things needed by our typhoon victims. “In service, we need to be responsive and timely in the light of needs.”
